Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 21, 2026

In plain English: This page explains what information MooLabyte collects when you visit, why, and the choices you have. I try to collect as little as possible. If anything here is unclear, email me at [email protected] and I’ll explain.

Who runs this site

MooLabyte (moolabyte.com) is a personal blog written and operated by Sujit Karki, an individual based in Kathmandu, Nepal. For privacy law, I am the “data controller.” You can reach me any time at [email protected].

The short version

I run a small blog about money, AI tools, and side hustles. I use Google Analytics to understand what’s popular, security software to keep the site safe, and (soon) ads to help cover costs. I don’t sell your personal data. You can browse most of the site without giving me anything.

What I collect and why

  • When you leave a comment: your name, email, comment, IP address, and browser info. This helps me reply and fight spam. WordPress may set cookies so you don’t have to retype your details.
  • If you use a Gravatar: WordPress may send a hashed (scrambled) version of your email to Gravatar to show your avatar.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4 via Google Site Kit): pages viewed, rough location, device and browser. This is aggregated and helps me improve the site.
  • Security (Wordfence): IP addresses and request data to block attacks.
  • Images (ShortPixel): used to compress images; it doesn’t track you.
  • Fonts: I self-host all fonts, so your visit is not shared with Google Fonts.
  • Advertising (planned — Google AdSense, later Mediavine or Raptive): once ads are on, third-party vendors including Google may set cookies to show relevant ads. See the Cookie Policy and the ad sections below.

Non-essential cookies (analytics, ads) only load after you agree via the consent banner. If you’re in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you’ll see a consent choice first. You can change your mind any time.

Google AdSense / DoubleClick disclosure

Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to your website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings. Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.

In plain English: when ads are running, Google and its partners may use cookies to make ads more relevant. You can turn personalized ads off at Google’s Ads Settings page.

Mediavine (added once I join Mediavine)

[Placeholder — insert Mediavine’s exact “Mediavine Programmatic Advertising” block verbatim from help.mediavine.com/privacy-policy-language, including the version number in the heading, when the site joins Mediavine. Mediavine’s Health Check verifies the exact wording and version number.]

Raptive (added once I join Raptive)

[Placeholder — insert Raptive’s exact advertising snippet when the site joins Raptive: “CMI Marketing, Inc., d/b/a Raptive (‘Raptive’) is a service provider of this Site for the purposes of placing advertising on the Site, and Raptive will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. To learn more about Raptive’s data usage, click here: https://raptive.com/creator-advertising-privacy-statement” — do not add Raptive contact info/emails to this policy; they forbid it.]

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask me to show you the data I hold, correct it, or delete it, and you can object to certain uses. If you’re in the EEA/UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. To exercise any right, email [email protected] — I’ll respond as fast as I can, usually within 30 days.

Your California / US-state privacy choices

I don’t sell your personal information for money. Some US state laws treat sharing data for personalized ads as a “sale” or “share.” If ads are running, you can opt out using the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer (shown to US-state residents), and I honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal.

How long I keep data

Comments are kept so conversations stay readable. Analytics data follows Google’s retention settings. You can ask me to delete your data any time.

Children

This site isn’t aimed at children under 16, and I don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If I update this policy, I’ll change the “Last updated” date above.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Nepal.
